Somatic Therapy

A body-based approach to healing that supports safety, regulation, and resilience.

Somatic Experiencing®

Healing isn’t just about talking—it happens in the body. I use Somatic Experiencing®, a body-centered therapy that helps your nervous system release stress, recover from overwhelm, and restore balance. This approach supports anxiety, chronic stress, and everyday overwhelm, not just past trauma.

If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, we focus on your present-moment experience—thoughts, emotions, and body sensations—so the work feels safe and manageable. Sessions are collaborative and paced to your nervous system, with no pressure to move faster than feels right.

  • Somatic therapy is a broad category of body-centered approaches to healing. Somatic Experiencing® is a specific, structured method focused on nervous system regulation and completing stress responses that may have been held in the body. It is effective for everyday stress, overwhelm, and anxiety, as well as trauma, making it accessible to anyone seeking more ease and balance.

  • I guide you to notice sensations in your body—breath, muscle tension, or subtle shifts—and follow these cues to pace the work safely and supportively. You won’t be asked to relive past trauma or analyze your reactions. Together, we help your nervous system settle, release stress, and build resilience, whether you’re managing everyday stress or past experiences.

  • Somatic Experiencing® helps your nervous system complete held stress responses. In sessions, I focus on safety, support, and pacing so you can feel calmer, more present, and more able to handle daily stress and emotional challenges. Many clients notice increased body awareness, emotional resilience, and confidence in managing life’s pressures.

  • Instead of focusing only on thoughts or stories, sessions emphasize your body’s present-moment experience. This body-centered approach allows the nervous system to release tension and build resilience, helping you feel calmer, more present, and better able to respond to life rather than just reflect on it.

  • Somatic Experiencing® works effectively in telehealth sessions. I provide guidance, cues, and pacing so you can feel grounded and supported while doing this body-centered therapy from the comfort of your own home. This approach benefits anyone wanting more ease in daily life, not only those with trauma histories.
