About me:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin who has been working in mental health since 2007. I began my career and spent many years supporting middle and high school students in the public school settings before transitioning into private practice. My passion and commitment to supporting people in improving their mental health was informed by my work with kids and understanding the impact peoples experiences in their developmental years informs their adult lives and relationships.
I bring personal experience as a parent, professional in the school system, and adjunct professor of counseling. My work is rooted in my training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Motivational Interviewing, and Somatic Experiencing® (SE).
My approach:
I strive to create a calm, supportive space where clients feel heard and valued. My work blends somatic practices, mindfulness techniques, aspects of DBT, and psychoeducation to help people navigate challenges, process trauma, and reconnect with their strength. I believe each person is the expert in their own life, already carrying much of the wisdom and many of the skills needed to grow and heal. Together, we explore, nurture, and build on those inner resources so they can become a steady foundation for change.

Common Questions about Somatic Experiencing® (SE)
-
Somatic Experiencing® is one type of somatic therapy that gently helps the body release stress and trauma, while “somatic therapy” is a broader term for any approach that uses body awareness as part of emotional healing. SE is a 3-year professional training with a specific curriculum that must be taken in sequence, according to Somatic Experiencing® International. My approach is informed by my ongoing training in Somatic Experiencing®.
-
Somatic Experiencing® (SE) is a body-based approach to healing trauma and stress that focuses more on what you feel than on retelling the story. You don’t have to relive your trauma or share every detail—SE works with your body’s present-moment responses, helping you feel more in control and avoid becoming overwhelmed. Instead of focusing only on thoughts or memories, it invites you to notice sensations like tightness, warmth, or tension, so you can gently release stuck patterns, calm your nervous system, and restore a sense of safety and ease—all at a pace you guide.
-
Absolutely. Your body’s sensations and capacity for healing are always with you, no matter where you are. Even through a screen, we can create a safe, supportive space to gently explore what you’re feeling and help you stay grounded. Somatic Experiencing uses tools like noticing body sensations (such as warmth, tingling, or movement), moving between comfort and discomfort, orienting to your surroundings, and working with small, manageable bits of experience. All of these can be done safely and effectively over telehealth with verbal guidance and gentle pacing. Many clients find virtual sessions just as meaningful and transformative as meeting in person.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your healthcare provider and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I am a private pay provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, many clients receive partial reimbursement for therapy through their out-of-network (OON) benefits. Upon payment, I can provide a monthly superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
If you’d like to use your insurance, contact your provider to ask about coverage for out-of-network outpatient psychotherapy (CPT code 90837). You may want to ask:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What is my deductible, and has it been met?
What is the reimbursement rate per session?
How many sessions are covered each year?
Is pre-authorization or a referral required?
Is a diagnostic code needed for reimbursement?
Why private pay?
No required diagnosis for services
Greater privacy—your records are not shared with insurance companies
Flexible, individualized treatment based on your needs rather than insurance limits
Payment and Cancellation Policy
Payment is due at the time of each session and can be made by credit card or HSA/FSA card. A valid payment method is kept on file for your convenience.
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice are billed $125.
Call, email, or complete the form to schedule a free 15 minute consultation. This is an opportunity to ask questions and see working with me feels like a good fit for you.
